[Oh boy, time to face this particular clusterfuck of a composition]
Well, um, we didn't know what was happening, really. A bunch of asari commandos sort of showed up on our doorstep, and they looked tired, so we brought them in.
One of them, Aeian, she was really nice, and her friend Neaira, sat down with us. Had some food. We spoke a lot. It, um, it really didn't feel like we were being invaded or anything, but they were obviously going through a lot, so we tried to be hospitable, you know? Do the right thing and all? I asked Aeian if she wanted to use our shower and she did so she went upstairs, and I went to get her some fresh towels and stuff, so I don't know what happened, but, um, I heard screaming and then all of a sudden, Dad grabbed me and threw me into a pantry.
[And this is where it starts getting hard to talk. Gunny needs a moment to compose herself before continuing]
When I asked him about what was going on, he said that we were under attack. That, that Neaira went crazy or something. He told me to stay there and not leave, and, and then he closed the door. And... and I didn't move! I really didn't, but then Aeian found me and started dragging me out of the house and I couldn't say no because there were all of those things screaming and running after us.
So, so, um, so we ran out into the woods. You know, the ones that trail off behind the house? And those things followed us, but she took care of most of them. I-I kind of helped. With a stick. Which is stupid, I know, but it sorta worked.
Anyway, we actually wound up out there for a couple of days, and she said she needed to go back for a radio to call for help. So, so we went.
And... and when we got there... they'd rounded up a whole bunch of people, our neighbors and Dad and... and I went to go set them free, but... but something was wrong with them and they started screaming and then more things showed up. And... and I think it was Neaira, she looked like she'd started mutating or something, but she, she, lifted me up with her biotics and threw me into the wall in the other side of the room. I think I blacked out when I landed or something, but it was only for a few seconds, and my leg got all messed up and I heard... I heard her and Aeian just... just tearing everyone and everything up and it was awful, Jeff. It was really awful. I mean... I mean Dad was in there, too, and I didn't see him when she started dragging me out, and...
[and cue the borderline hyperventilating because this is where it gets EVEN BETTER]
...Anyway, she dragged me into the barn and, and, and... she tried to get me to be quiet, and I really tried not to make a sound, I really, really did, but I couldn't help crying. And at first I thought she was using this biotic thing she did to freeze those things from before. But then... then... then it got hard to breathe and... and everything started hurting like I was being crushed or something, and the last thing I remember was getting thrown again. On the floor, and... and things got really quiet. I didn't see Aeian anywhere, and I couldn't move... and... and then that's all I remember.
[She did a pretty good job of holding herself together up until that last part, but now that recounting her Excellent AdventureTM is over and done with, she can't help that inevitable breaking down.]
